The best guestrooms for the money we saw in Appenzell were at the Gasthof Hof. The Hof's busy restaurant is one of the town's most popular and also offers a few rooms to rent. They are done in an aromatic white pine and have ultra modern TVs with cable and snug little bathrooms with stall showers. Doubled start at CHF 65 per person with breakfast.
