Boat hotels are never high on my list of places to stay. Typically, they offer cramped, low-grade lodgings with a twist—the twist being that the boat leans to one side. The Botel Gracia has many of the typical "botel" features—the low-grade rooms and the twist—but its quality of service, spacious rooms and central location just in front of the Devin help elevate it above the usual hotel-on-the-water. Moreover, the Gracia was recently renovated, so the paint is fresh, linens crisp, and the carpets are colorful and clean. The hotel also has a bar on its large covered deck with nice views of the river and the space-age New Bridge. The best rooms do not face the highway. |
